How to use Safaricom Lipa na Bonga Points

• Dial *126#
• Select option 1: Lipa na Bonga Points
• Then reply with:
  1 to access the Buy Goods menu (Enter till number > Account number > Amount > Create a Safaricom universal PIN)
  2 to access the Pay Bill menu (Enter Business number > Amount)
  3 for Bonga Calculator, and
  4 to View Points

Here’s something you will see if you try to use the Buy Goods option for example:

• You will be asked for the till number
• The account number
• How much you want to pay
  Then you will see the following: ‘Please confirm payment of KSH 30 worth 100 Bonga Points to EXAMPLE COMPANY.’
• Reply with – 1: Accept or 2: Decline

If you have enough Bonga Points, you can make payment entirely from the Bonga Points you have accumulated.

If you think you don’t have enough points, use the Bonga Calculator to gauge how many points you will need for a particular purchase.

You can use a mixture of Bonga Points + cash to complete a purchase.

Use the options 1: Points you wish to redeem & 2: Cash you wish to spend to see how much you will need of each.
